ADRENALINE MOB - "Romeo Delight" (video)

As a big fan of these gentlemen, I was wondering what covers they would include on their upcoming EP entitled "Covertá", due on March 12, 2013.
Check out Adrenaline Mob's version of Van Halen's "Romeo Delight":

track list:
1. ‘High Wire’ (Badlands)
2. ‘Stand Up and Shout’ (Dio)
3. ‘Break on Through’ (The Doors)
4. ‘Romeo Delight’ (Van Halen)
5. ‘Barracuda’ (Heart)
6. ‘Kill the King’ (Rainbow)
7. ‘The Lemon Song’ (Led Zeppelin)
8. ‘The Mob Rules’ (Black Sabbath)

Adrenaline Mob is a heavy metal supergroup formed by singer Russell Allen (Symphony X), guitarist Mike Orlando and drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater). The band was formed in early 2011 and performed their first live performance on June 24, 2011 at the Hiro Ballroom in New York City, with the addition of bass player Paul Di Leo (Fozzy), and rhythm guitarist Rich Ward (Stuck Mojo/Fozzy). They released a YouTube video of a cover version of the Black Sabbath classic "The Mob Rules" on June 27, 2011 to promote the band. On New Year's Eve 2011, Adrenaline Mob announced via their Facebook page that they would release their full length studio album, Omertà, on March 13, 2012, and also revealed the album art.
On January 7, 2012, the band announced the departures of Rich Ward and Paul Di Leo due to scheduling conflicts with their other bands. On February 8, 2012, it was announced that John Moyer (Disturbed) is Adrenaline Mob's new bass player. John has made his onstage debut with the group on March 12, at New York City’s Hiro Ballroom, a day before the release of the band's debut full-length album, Omertà.

PROGRESS now in podcast form (links)

While I work on getting some older shows posted, I have uploaded this week's show early to test.
Feel free to visit http://www.rockfileradio.com/progress.html and download my first podcast.
(Or you can listen to it stream from the page.)

PROGRESS is a show featuring progressive-leaning rock music "off the beaten path" of mainstream media. I do not expect anyone to love everything but think of it as an exotic buffet, at least you can say you tried the weird stuff.  And you just might find something you like.

It runs twice a week on Rockfile Radio ICE and now you can listen to it anytime.

Your feedback is always welcome.

Happy Birthday JOHNNY CASH R.I.P. (video)

John R. "Johnny" Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and author who was considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Although he is primarily remembered as a country music icon, his songs and sound spanned other genres including rockabilly and rock and roll—especially early in his career—and blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Cash was known for his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice, for the "boom-chicka-boom" sound of his Tennessee Three backing band; for a rebelliousness, coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor; for providing free concerts inside prison walls; and for his dark performance clothing, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". He traditionally began his concerts with the phrase "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash.", followed by his standard "Folsom Prison Blues".

Much of Cash's music echoed themes of sorrow, moral tribulation and redemption, especially in the later stages of his career. His best-known songs included "I Walk the Line", "Folsom Prison Blues", "Ring of Fire", "Get Rhythm" and "Man in Black". He also recorded humorous numbers like "One Piece at a Time" and "A Boy Named Sue"; a duet with his future wife, June Carter, called "Jackson"; and railroad songs including "Hey, Porter" and "Rock Island Line". During the last stage of his career, Cash covered songs by several late 20th-century rock artists, most notably "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden, "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode and "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails.

Happy Birthday WALTER BECKER (video)

Walter Carl Becker (born February 20, 1950) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the co-founder, guitarist, bassist and co-songwriter in Steely Dan.

Becker met his future songwriting partner Donald Fagen while studying at Bard College. After a brief period of activity in New York, the two relocated to California in 1971 and formed the nucleus of Steely Dan, who enjoyed a critically and commercially successful ten-year career. Following the group's disbanding, Becker relocated to Hawaii and reduced his musical activity, working primarily as a record producer.

Becker and Fagen reformed Steely Dan in 1993 and have remained active, most notably including their 2000 Two Against Nature album, which won four Grammy Awards. Becker has also released two solo albums, 1994's 11 Tracks of Whack and 2008's Circus Money.
